About

The need to publish and maintain a current guide to services for the people in Algoma District has been an identified need for several years. Two separate yet complementary Street Smart guides were designed in order to address this gap in service.

The first guide, known as the Street Smart Guide To Things You Need To Know, provides basic information on more than two-dozen topics of importance. The second guide, known as the Street Smart Guide To Numbers You Need To Know provides a comprehensive directory of programs and services offered by the many community agencies in Algoma District.

The Street Smart Solution continues to promote and distribute the print version of the Street Smart Guide. Get Street Smart On-line, features the ‘Things’ guide in a downloadable PDF format and the ‘Numbers’ guide in a searchable database format that lets you search by agency, by district or by category of service. We have also added GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology to the website so you can produce maps of agency locations.

A third phase, which will build upon the successes of the first two phases is currently being planned.
