Local Map

Need to find a local shelter, soup kitchen, food bank or community agency but you're not sure where they're located? Now you can find your way easily using Get Street Smart On-line.

Get Street Smart On-line features cutting edge Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology that allows you to produce city maps indicating the exact location of more than 130 community agencies - at the touch of a button right from your own PC!

View and print city maps using one of three different methods:

SEARCH STREET MAP

You can access the GIS mapping feature using the SEARCH STREET MAP icon at the bottom right hand side of your screen. Simply select the agency name from a drop down menu that can be accessed below the AGENCY SEARCH icon. A map of Sault Ste. Marie will appear on your screen with a red balloon that indicates the location of the program that your are looking for. A text box will also appear which provides the name of the agency and relevant contact information.

Directional arrows on the left hand side of the map on your screen will enable you to move the map up and down or left and right. As well, you can increase or decrease the size of the map simply by pressing the '+' and '-' sign as often as needed. Each time you increase the size of the map, you will see the names of the side streets rather than just the main streets.

Want a different view? Simply point your mouse to a location on the map, click the left button on your mouse and hold it down. Then drag the mouse across the map to give you a new view.

To print the map, simply click FILE in the left hand corner of your screen and then click PRINT.

AGENCY SEARCH

You can also select the name of the agency that you are looking for using the pull-down AGENCY SEARCH menu on the right hand side of the page. Click the 'V' arrow to view the list of agencies. Select the agency name and then click SEARCH. All of the programs and services that are available through that agency will appear on your screen. Simply click the 'MAP THIS LISTING' icon at the end of the listing that interests you. A map will appear with a red balloon that will indicate the location of the program in question. A text box also appears which includes the name of the agency and contact information. Directional arrows allow you to change the view and increase or decrease the size of the map. To print the map, simply click FILE in the left hand corner of your screen and then click PRINT.

CATEGORY SEARCH

Simply select the name of the category that you are looking for using the pull-down CATEGORY SEARCH menu on the right hand side of the page. Click the 'V' arrow to view the list of categories. Select the category name and then click SEARCH. All of the programs and services that are available within that category will appear on your screen. Simply click the 'MAP THIS LISTING' icon at the end of the listing. A map will appear with a red balloon that will indicate the location of the program. A text box also appears which includes the name of the agency and contact information. Directional arrows allow you to change the view and increase or decrease the size of the map. To print the map, simply click FILE in the left hand corner of your screen and then click PRINT.
